Overview
Liberty Hall has built a team of over 15 members, including investment professionals, our finance and operations team, and Operating Advisors. Our Operating Advisors are former aerospace and defense industry CEOs and senior executives, as well as senior military officers, who work with the investment professionals across the totality of the investment process. Together, our team has over 500 years of aerospace and defense industry investment and operating experience.
Investment Professionals and Finance & Operations Team
Rowan G.P. Taylor is the founding and Managing Partner of Liberty Hall. Prior to founding Liberty Hall in 2011, Mr. Taylor was a Partner of Oak Hill Capital Management. While at Oak Hill, which he joined in 1999, Mr. Taylor was head of its Basic Industries group where he led a team of investment professionals focused on industrial and transportation businesses, including those serving the aerospace and defense industry, and served on Oak Hill’s Investment Committee. Prior to joining Oak Hill, Mr. Taylor was a Principal of The Clipper Group and its successor, Monitor Clipper Partners, both private equity firms associated with CS First Boston, which he joined in 1991. Mr. Taylor began his career as a Financial Analyst in the Merchant Banking group of CS First Boston in 1989.
Mr. Taylor serves or previously served on the boards of directors of each of the portfolio companies described herein. He also currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Ashley Hall and previously served on the Board of Trustees of Washington and Lee University and Board of Regents of Portsmouth Abbey School. He earned his B.A. in Economics, summa cum laude, from Washington and Lee University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Michael J. Warren is a Partner of Liberty Hall. He also serves as Liberty Hall’s Responsible Investment Officer. Prior to joining Liberty Hall in 2020, he was Chief Executive Officer and, previously, Chief Financial Officer of Omada International, a Tier II supplier of structural airframe components to the global aerospace industry, which he joined in 2013. From 2005-2013, he was a Principal at Oak Hill Capital Management, where he was member of the Basic Industries group and focused on investments in the aerospace and defense industry. From 1999-2005, he was a Vice President at Palladium Equity Partners. He began his career as an Analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in 1996.
Mr. Warren currently serves on the boards of directors of Accurus and Dunlop Aircraft Tyres and previously served on the board of directors of Bromford Group. Mr. Warren earned his B.A. from Brown University.
James C. Black is a Partner of Liberty Hall. He also serves as Liberty Hall’s Head of Capital Formation. Prior to joining Liberty Hall in 2014, he began his career in 2012 as an Analyst in the Global Industrials group at Citigroup, where he focused on transactions in the aerospace and defense industry.
Mr. Black currently serves on the boards of directors of Comply365 and Paxia, previously served on the board of directors of Accurus and has been actively involved in Liberty Hall’s investments in AIM Aerospace Corporation and Onboard Systems International. Mr. Black earned his B.B.A., magna cum laude with honors, from the University of Georgia.

Prior to joining Liberty Hall in 2011, Mr. Oran served as an advisor to several private equity firms and aerospace businesses on more than twenty-five transactions. Mr. Oran is also a co-founder of FCB Financial Holdings, which was formed to acquire failed banks in FDIC-assisted transactions that raised over $900 million in capital and was acquired by Synovus Financial in 2019. From 1994-2002, he was a senior executive of United Airlines where he served on the Management Committee, led its International Division, and built its corporate aviation business. Mr. Oran began his career in 1974 at the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison where he rose to become a senior corporate partner and advised Mr. Taylor beginning in 1992.
Mr. Oran currently serves on the board of directors of Dunlop Aircraft Tyres and previously served on the board of directors of Accurus, AIM Aerospace Corporation, Aircraft Performance Group, Comply365, United Air Lines (operating subsidiary), Spirit Airlines, OHA Investment Corporation, FCB Financial Holdings, Deerfield Capital, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Wendy’s International. Mr. Oran earned his B.S. from Cornell University and J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.

Prior to joining Liberty Hall in 2017, Mr. Scott was the Chief Financial Officer, Managing Director – Liquid Markets for Fortress Investment Group, which he joined in 2014. From 2004-2014, he was the Founder and Managing Partner of Capulus, a fund accounting firm for hedge fund clients, as well as Controller for multiple hedge funds. He began his career in 2002 as a Public Accountant at Rothstein, Kass & Co. where he provided accounting and tax services to private equity, hedge fund and broker dealer clients.
Mr. Scott earned his B.S. in Accounting and a B.A. in Finance and Economics from the University of Delaware. Mr. Scott is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Public Accountant.
Matt G. Seely is a Vice President of Liberty Hall. Prior to joining Liberty Hall in 2021, he was an Associate of First Reserve Corporation. While at First Reserve, which he joined in 2020, Mr. Seely was responsible for investments in the energy services and manufacturing sectors. He began his career as an Analyst in the Energy Services and Equipment group at Simmons & Company International.
Mr. Seely currently serves on the board of directors of Comply365 and Paxia and has previously been actively involved in Liberty Hall’s investments in Bromford Group and Onboard Systems International. Mr. Seely earned his B.S. in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with concentrations in Finance and Information Technology.
Kyle R. Wohler is Vice President of Liberty Hall. Prior to joining Liberty Hall in 2021, he was an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Industrials Coverage group at Truist Securities, where he focused on transactions in the aerospace and defense, building products and security industries.
Mr. Wohler currently serves on the boards of directors of Accurus and Dunlop Aircraft Tyres. Mr. Wohler earned his B.B.A., cum laude, from the University of Georgia.
Shelby E. Boykin is a Senior Associate of Liberty Hall. Prior to joining Liberty Hall in 2023, she was a Senior Associate in the Transactions and Corporate Finance group at Ernst & Young, where she focused on valuation work for companies in the aerospace and defense, consumer products and manufacturing industries.
Ms. Boykin is actively involved in Liberty Hall’s investments in Comply365 and Dunlop Aircraft Tyres. Ms. Boykin earned her B.B.A., summa cum laude with highest honors, from the University of Georgia.
Anna C. Bitter is an Associate of Liberty Hall. Prior to joining Liberty Hall in 2024, she was an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Wells Fargo, where she focused on transactions in the aerospace and defense, building products, consumer and technology industries.
Ms. Bitter is actively involved in Liberty Hall’s investments in Accurus and Paxia. Ms. Bitter earned her B.S. in Accounting, magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Megan L. Farr is the Office Manager of Liberty Hall. Prior to joining Liberty Hall, Mrs. Farr was a Vice President, Credit Sales for HSBC Securities. She has also held management positions with Citigroup, FTN Financial, Gates Capital Corporation and Marriott International.
Mrs. Farr earned her B.B.A from James Madison University.
Catherine A. Baril is an Executive Assistant of Liberty Hall. Prior to joining Liberty Hall, Ms. Baril was an Executive Assistant at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. She has also held Executive Assistant roles with Wall Street Systems and Forrest Solutions Agency.
Ms. Baril earned her B.A. from the University of Scranton.

Stephen M. Clampett is an Operating Advisor to Liberty Hall and has over 40 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Mr. Clampett most recently served as President, Airline Products and Solutions for Sabre Holdings, a software and technology company that “powers” the global travel industry. His prior leadership roles include President, Airline Products and Services for Sabre Holdings, Vice President, American Airlines Decision Technologies for AMR Corporation and Operations Research for Ford Motor Company. Mr. Clampett serves or has served on the board of directors of several companies in the aerospace industry. Mr. Clampett earned his A.B. in Mathematics from University of Missouri – Columbia, M.S. in Applied Mathematics from University of Missouri – Columbia and M.S. in Industrial Administration from The Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.

Dick Forsberg
Dick Forsberg is an Operating Advisor to Liberty Hall and has more than 45 years of aerospace industry experience. Mr. Forsberg most recently served as Head of Strategy of Avolon, a leading global aircraft leasing company. His prior leadership roles include RBS Aviation Capital, International Aviation Management Group, GECAS and Guinness Peat Aviation. Mr. Forsberg earned his Diploma in Business Studies and Marketing from the UK Institute of Marketing and is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society
James M. Gibson
James M. Gibson
James M. Gibson is an Operating Advisor to Liberty Hall, serves as Chairman of the Board of Accurus Aerospace Corporation (formerly served as CEO) and has more than 35 years of aerospace industry experience. Prior to joining Liberty Hall in May 2013 and Accurus at its formation in November 2013, he was Executive Vice President of Business Development for Synchronous Aerospace Group, an aerostructures supplier, where he was responsible for new business development and strategy. During his career, Mr. Gibson also served in a number of management positions at GKN Aerospace, including President of GKN Aerospace Transparency Systems Inc., Chief Operating Officer of GKN’s Aerospace Special Products Group and Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Strategy for GKN’s Aerostructures Division. He has also worked for TRW Aerospace, Rolls-Royce and Lucas Aerospace. Mr. Gibson is a licensed pilot and aircraft mechanic.

Jason M. Lemmon is an Operating Advisor to Liberty Hall and has over 25 years of aerospace and defense industry experience. Prior to joining Liberty Hall, Mr. Lemmon served as President of Onboard Systems International, an existing portfolio company, from 2006-2020 and previously served in a number of management positions, including General Manager and Sales and Marketing Manager. Over Mr. Lemmon’s twenty-year tenure with Onboard Systems International, the company grew significantly to become the leading global provider of external cargo handling equipment for civil and military helicopters. Mr. Lemmon earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University.

Gen. Robert H. McMahon
Major General Robert H. McMahon is an Operating Advisor to Liberty Hall and has over 45 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry. General McMahon served in the United States Air Force from 1974 – 2012. Most recently, General McMahon served as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment, providing oversight of logistics policies, practices, and efficiencies to enable readiness across the Department of Defense and managed over $170 billion in logistics operations. Prior to serving as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment, he served as Director of C-17 Field Operations for The Boeing Company. During his military career, General McMahon held multiple positions in the United States Air Force, including military assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Environment and Logistics, Director of Logistics and Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, and Commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. General McMahon earned his B.S. in International Affairs from the United States Air Force Academy and his M.S. in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology.

Kevin L. Schemm is an Operating Advisor to Liberty Hall and has over 35 years of aerospace industry experience. He also currently serves as a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Co. and Vice-Chairman of the board of directors of the Virginia Mason Health System. Mr. Schemm most recently served as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Finance and a member of the Executive Council for The Boeing Company, where he reported directly to Boeing’s Chief Executive Officer and was responsible for financial activities across all business units, including Commercial Airplanes, Defense, Space & Security and Global Services. During his career, Mr. Schemm also served in a number of management positions at Boeing, including SVP of Business Operations & Performance, Supply Chain, Strategy and CFO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, where he was responsible for financial management, strategic and long-range business planning and operations for the $76 billion Commercial Airplanes division, and VP, Sales, North America and Global Leasing, where he directed Boeing’s business relationships with airline customers in North America and leasing companies globally for the sale of all commercial airplanes and related services, representing over $140 billion in new aircraft sales during his tenure. Mr. Schemm began his career at Boeing as a Systems Engineer in the Military Airplanes division before serving in a number of leadership positions within Contracts, including VP of Contracts for Boeing Commercial Airplanes and President of the Boeing Aircraft Holding Company. Mr. Schemm previously served on the board of directors of the Virginia Mason Medical Center Foundation and the Boards of Trustees of The Museum of Flight and Bellevue Arts Museum. Mr. Schemm earned his B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Kansas State University and a M.B.A from the University of Washington.
